BEGINNING IN 1946, and continuing off-and-on through 1954, there were FOUR different Series of "THE HALL OF FANTASY".

ALL were created, written, and produced by RICHARD THORNE, a broadcasting professional who took the Series with him when he moved from KALL Radio in Utah, to 50,000 Watt, WGN in Chicago. He revamped it, revived it, and, in 1952 it was given a new life on the Mutual Radio Network.

Many of the early shows dealt with murder & mayhem,  along with some Poe Classics like "The Cask Of Amontillado", "The Tell-Tale Heart", and, "The Gold Bug".  But, with the Mutual version, the show focused more on Supernatural & Science Fiction plots...and those are the ones many Golden Age Radio fans remember the best.

THIS SHOW, "The Shadow People", is one of my personal favorites !  It concerns a young lady named Elaine Drake, her brother, Brian, and Elaine's fiance, David.  It seems as though Elaine is troubled because she has been seeing a strange figure, a shape that manifests itself in the dark of night when she's by herself and the lights in her house are turned off.

Yes, it seems to be just a huge figure in the "shadows" , but she also hear's voices, whispers from this huge hulking-shaped figure lurking in the shadows !  What is "it" up to, and what does it want ?

GOOD QUESTIONS TO ponder as you listen to Episode 1 of "The Shadow People
", first heard September 5th, 1952 on "The Hall Of Fantasy" !  PLUS, as an added bonus for you, I've added a Promo of the show that you'll hear first, just as it was aired on the Weekend before the show began, by all of the stations carrying "The Breakfast Serial".

AND, Y-E-S, the complete program of "The Shadow People", including the Special Promos for the show, is available in our Catalog for "The Breakfast Serial".  It's #99 on the List and you can get your own CD of it by going to the Catalog...Right Now !   Simply Click-On-Here !   JK
